Involvement in upcoming projectsEdit

After the announcement of Star Wars Episode VII and the rest of the sequel trilogy on October 30, 2012,[1] much attention has focused on whether the stars of the original trilogy would be returning for the new films. Most of the focus has centered on Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher, but Williams has been asked whether he will return for Episode VII. Williams has expressed interest in returning but has said that he is "in the dark with the actual plans that Disney and Lucasfilm have for the future of the 'Star Wars' universe." He would "absolutely love to reprise" the role, saying that Lando was "a character that I took great pride in creating" and he is "eager to do it again, on film, when I get the call." Williams has told fans that "the best way to ensure that [he] will be in the new films" is to tell Disney and Lucasfilm that they want to see Lando again via blogs, Facebook, and Twitter.[2]
