Hallam described Broken Allegiance as his most ambitious project, and it took months of planning and production in order to finish the film. He describes the film as paying homage to Star Wars, which inspired him to become a director, and it is his hope that he and his team produced a quality fan film with stunning visuals, a rich story, and compelling characters.
In a departure from most fan films, Broken Allegiance features an original symphonic score by composer Rich Johnson, which was performed by the Johnson Film Orchestra.

Synopsis
Ruan and Calis fly their stolen Gamma-class ATR-6 assault transport out of Coruscant's atmosphere, dodging blaster bolts and destroying a small Imperial base with a proton torpedo. They shake pursuing TIE fighters by buzzing a couple of docked Star Destroyers. Two fighters collide, and a third is taken out by a torpedo. With one fighter still pursuing, the “Dark Padawans” fly into a narrow shaft. The shaft proves too narrow for the fighter. They emerge after narrowly escaping the blast…only to find the Superdestroyer Executor on the other side. The massive ship contacts the transport, ordering them to surrender.

Aboard the Executor, Admiral Okins is contacted by Darth Vader…who expresses his urgent need for the two apprentices to be recaptured.

The Dark Jedi continue to flee. A direct hit on their hull causes major damage to their engines. With one minute until they jump to lightspeed, they realize that with the massive damage to their Hyperdrive, the furthest they will get is the Both System. The Executor proceeds to reel in the transport, using a tractor beam. Calis fires two proton torpedoes at the Executor, knocking out its tractor beam. Free at last, they enter lightspeed. Just then Lord Vader arrives and, upon learning that his Dark Padawans have escaped, Force-chokes Admiral Okins. Captain Hannard, suggesting both apprentices fled to the Bothawui System, asks if they should set a course. Instead Lord Vader contacts Korbain Thor, a bounty hunter, whom he orders to bring back Ruan and Calis.

Entering orbit of Bothawui, Calis sends out an emergency distress call. Ruan cuts off her transmission, expressing concern that she is "letting every bounty hunter in the sector know we're here." Calis apologizes, saying she knows that Vader is out there hunting them down. Ruan believes Vader's anger over Skywalker will be enough to distract their former master, but Calis isn't so sure. Approaching Ruan, she expresses her happiness that they met. They are about to kiss (revealing they're romantically involved) when the sensors pick up another ship—Korbain Thor’s—entering orbit. Thor’s ship moves to an attack position and contacts the two Dark Jedi, stating "there is no escape," just before firing on the transport. Ruan and Calis flee in an escape pod just as Thor destroys the ship they commandeered.

On the planet's surface, Ruan heals Calis' wound. While searching for a settlement, they are narrowly missed by blaster bolts. Ruan pulls out his scarlet lightsaber and deflects them. Calis then ignites her purple lightsaber, stating to Thor, "What makes you think you can take us out?" At that, Thor removes his helmet and turns his blaster into an orange-bladed lightsaber. They duel until Thor Force-pushes Calis away. Then he knocks Ruan down a cliff. Thor and Calis engage in an aggressive clash of lightsabers. As Thor tricks and shoots Calis, Ruan runs up from the cliff shouting "No!" He uses Force-lightning on Thor, knocking him to the ground. Thor suddenly throws a bomb at Ruan, knocking him to the ground. They have a fistfight, until Thor pins Ruan against a tree, with a blade to the Dark Jedi's neck. Abruptly, Calis rushes up from behind and shoots Thor with his own blaster. Ruan and Calis embrace…and then look above to see the Executor entering orbit.

Darth Vader sends a lieutenant down to retrieve both Dark Jedi. The lieutenant and a squad of stormtroopers land on the surface to find Thor holding Calis. Ruan is nowhere to be seen. His suspicions aroused, the lieutenant orders Thor to take off his helmet. He does…it is Ruan! He hands over Calis, who suddenly breaks free of her restraints and cold-cocks the lieutenant. She then retrieves her lightsaber and defeats the stormtroopers while Ruan holds the lieutenant hostage.

When the lieutenant returns to the Executor alone, Lord Vader prepares to Force-choke the officer…but then mercifully turns away.

Ruan and Calis leave the Both System in Thor's ship. It is revealed that Calis is pregnant with Ruan's baby, as the two make another jump to light-speed.
