"...it has involved months of around-the-clock planning to produce a work that is ultimately a homage to the film that inspired me all those years ago to pick up a camera."
―Nick Hallam[src]

Broken Allegiance is a Star Wars fan film directed by Nick Hallam, based on a screenplay by Hallam and Sudheera Kuruppu. The film is set between Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and it revolves around two Sith apprentices on the run from the Galactic Empire. Fighting for their freedom, they must face off against the Sith Lord Darth Vader in the hopes of escaping alive.[3]

Hallam described Broken Allegiance as his most ambitious project, and it took months of planning and production in order to finish the film. He describes the film as paying homage to Star Wars, which inspired him to become a director, and it is his hope that he and his team produced a quality fan film with stunning visuals, a rich story, and compelling characters.[4]

Opening crawl

BROKEN ALLEGIANCE
After the destruction of the Death
Star at Yavin, the Emperor orders
Darth Vader to find the pilot
responsible, by any means
necessary. To assist in his goal,
Vader has trained two apprentices
in the powerful ways of the Sith.

Having spent more than a year
immersed in Dark Jedi lore, the
pair has become disillusioned with
their role in the Emperor's grand
scheme.

Fleeing Coruscant in a stolen
transport, they are attempting to
escape Vader and gain their
freedom from the tyranny of the
Empire…
