When it was announced that Star Wars Episode VII was being released on December 18, 2015, the biggest competition on that same day was Warcraft, a film adaptation of the hugely popular gaming franchise of the same name. Here on Fanpedia, that led us to wonder, in our most recent Community Showcase, what that would mean for both films' box office earnings.

Now we know that Legendary, the studio behind the Warcraft film, had to ask themselves that same question. Their answer? Warcraft will be hurt by Episode VII. Given that, the studio has opted to move Warcraft's release back to March 11, 2016. That leaves Inferno, the next film based on Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series (which also includes The Da Vinci Code), as the only other December 18th release. I can't help but wonder if that will be moved too.
