A few years ago, a talented Star Wars fan named Marc Dominic Rienzo began working on a trailer for the Expanded Universe, using clips from various Star Wars films and other projects to realize a vision for what the stories might look like on screen. These stories included the Thrawn Trilogy, the Black Fleet Crisis, the Jedi Academy Trilogy, the New Jedi Order series, and the Legacy of the Force series. The trailer, based on the trailer for the Special Edition release of the original trilogy, allowed Rienzo to envision what it would be like to see Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Anakin Solo, Mara Jade, and more on the big screen. The trailer was narrated by the late Don Lafontaine, famously known as the voice of thousands of movie trailers.
The trailer, which was meant to be released in 2007 for the 30th anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, was finally released in May, after the announcement that the Expanded Universe was no longer official canon, and would henceforth be known as Star Wars Legends.
I just wish we here at Fanpedia had seen it sooner! Watch the fan-made trailer above, and share your thoughts in the comments below.
