Today, we are sad to report that author Ann "A.C." Crispin has passed away after a long battle with cancer. In Star Wars, Ann was best known for writing the Han Solo trilogy: The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn. This trilogy featured the character of Han Solo just before we met him in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, with Rebel Dawn leading directly into the movie. Ann was also a prolific author outside of Star Wars, both with her own original works as well as other adaptations such as Star Trek.
Unfortunately, we knew this day was likely coming. Ann posted on her Facebook the other day this message:
- "I want to thank you all for your good wishes and prayers. I fear my condition is deteriorating. I am doing the best I can to be positive but I probably don’t have an awful lot of time left. I want you all to know that I am receiving excellent care and am surrounded by family and friends."
May she rest in peace.
