DarthVader

And now for something totally unexpected: according to a new report from Jedi News, Darth Vader is headed to television. Jedi News was able to obtain a brochure given to attendees from the European Brand Licensing Show, and that brochure gave some insight into Disney's plans over the next few years. In it, in the section for Spring/Summer 2014, "Darth Vader Themed TV Specials" was listed as one of the upcoming bits of Star Wars programming the company will be putting out. Beyond that reference, there's no other information about it at this time.

So what could this mean? That's a very good question. While nothing is confirmed—and neither Lucasfilm nor Disney have said anything about this online yet—my guess is that it will be part of the pre-release marketing for Star Wars Rebels, which will debut sometime in fall 2014. The show is set five years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, so Darth Vader is around as one of the closest associates of the Emperor. It's the most likely way to put him on TV, which would mean these specials will likely be animated.

Once we learn more, we'll be sure to bring you the latest information. In the meantime, sound off in the comments with your thoughts!
