The internet is abuzz with a rumor that Irish actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, from the likes of Showtime's The Tudors, the forthcoming The Mortal Instruments, and Bend it Like Beckham, may play a part in Star Wars Episode VII. While the young actor doesn't have too much experience in leading roles, he's nonetheless displayed some real chops over the years, and I think he'd be a welcome addition to the cast. It's worth noting that Rhys-Meyers played a part in JJ Abrams' Mission Impossible III.
io9 notes that the actor could definitely pass for the spawn of Han and Leia, if they decide to head down that route. That said, there is definitely something a bit dark-side-of-the-force about Rhys-Meyers -- perhaps his character's transition from light to dark, or there and back again, will be central to the trilogy's arc. Only time will tell.
